When this interview with Spencer Dryden - drummer on all those classic, early Jefferson Airplane albums, and reproduced here for the very first time - was published in Ptolemaic Terrascope issue 14 in the early Summer of 1993, the Terrascope was itself going through a fairly major transition. The layout and picture captions on this feature are all by artist-in-residence and one of the three founding fathers of the Terrascope, R.M. 'Cyke' Bancroft; but Cyke was at the time fighting his own inner demons and was to bow out altogether after just two more issues. His eventual replacement was one of my oldest and dearest friends, Davina Ware (who did all of the layout and covers from issue 19 onwards - issues 17 and 18 having been assembled as best we could by Nick Saloman and myself) - and it's Davina's distinctive and captivating artwork which is first to be seen here, illustrating this feature. Interestingly, the interview itself was undertaken over in San Francisco by Pat Thomas, who almost 15 years later was himself to become the Terrascope's Editor!
