The first in a series of extremely limited edition physical incarnations of Terrascope Online, containing a selection of LP reviews from the past few months.
Future editions will be slightly more extensive, although there will never be more than 50 copies of each one made.
Each copy is entirely hand printed on a hand-cranked 1950s vintage Letterpress machine, and is therefore completely unique.
3 colours of ink. 12 pages of print. Measures approx. 5 inches by 7 inches.
NB: The price has been set to the equivalent of what a pop single cost in 1974 (69p)
Here's how it works. You choose the address you'd like, for example
"Lightning_Hopkins (at) terrascope.co.uk"
You then use the Payment Plan button below to set up a £3.00 GBP a month payment
plan. Send
us an e-Mail
confirming it and informing us what e-mail address you'd like (it has to end
with terrascope.co.uk but other than that, all the usual rules
apply). We'll then get in touch and let you know as soon as it's set up and
give you your password etc.
For those of you familiar with such things, this is a full-blown secure
POP3/SMTP account: Outlook users for example can quickly set it up by going
to Tools / e-Mail Accounts / Add a new e-Mail account / Pop3 and typing in
their own name and chosen e-mail address, typing in the login name and
password we give you and putting "pop.terrascope.co.uk" in the
incoming and "smtp.terrascope.co.uk" in the outgoing mail server addresses.
Also, you will need SMTP authentication enabled. Don't worry, it's simpler
than it sounds and we are here to advise you.
We can also let you have a simple mail redirection account, whereby (for
example) anything posted to "Lightning_Hopkins (at) terrascope.co.uk" is
automatically redirected to your existing e-mail account. It's not nearly as
versatile, but serves it's purpose.
Disclaimer: in the extremely unlikely
event of the website crashing, being taken down for maintenance or even disappearing altogether, e-mail
addresses and redirections are liable to be lost and will have to be
manually recreated. We can accept no liability for any consequential losses
or inconvenience incurred.
TEA-1 Compilation CD.
Originally commissioned to commemorate the first
Terrastock TEA party in Oxford, England, in April 2007, there were just a few of these compilation CDRs
available for sale by mail-order. Each one came in a hand-made sleeve and
featured a stunning collection of sounds from across the Terraverse.
'Succour'
was the original Terrascope fund-raiser - a double CD featuring exclusive
tracks by 35 "terrascopic"
bands and artists. Originally self-released in 1995 and given the
catalogue number POT-1, it was compiled by Phil McMullen and designed &
mastered by Nick Saloman. Flydaddy Records (run by two former Sub Pop
employees, brothers Kevin and Adam) later licensed and reissued it in
North America, this time with a different cover that was designed especially
for it by former Terrascope artist Davina Ware. In 1996 there was also a now
extremely rare Japanese version released as a single CD.
